After you discover your passion or hobby and you are comfortable with your work there are so many platforms that you can use to help you advertise and market. It doesn’t matter if you want to put your talent out there just for display or if you want to earn income.

You can:

  1. Use social media
  2. Create your own website
  3. Sign up and submit your work to websites made for your area of interest.

1. Use Social Media

With the use of any social media there are many things you can do to advertise your talent or business. Social media gives you the ability to advertise and market basically any type of talent/business. Some social media platforms include:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Snapchat
  • Pinterest
  • WhatsApp
  • Twitter
  • Tumblr
  • LinkedIn

2. Create your Own Website

If you have the connections and the capital you can hire a web designer to create a website for you.

If you have the knowledge and skills you can create your own website from scratch or use a website builder. Some website builders are:

  • WordPress.org
  • WIX.com
  • Square Space
  • GoDaddy.com
  • Shopify.com

3. Sign up and Submit your Work to Websites Made for your area of Interest

When you sign up for websites made for a specific talent/business you would have to upload your work directly for display and/ purchase. You might also sign up for websites where everything you submit would need to be approved first. These platforms include:

  • Etsy (for anything handmade, arts and craft, fashion designs etc)
  • Amazon (for buying and selling)
  • Ali Express (for buying and selling)
  • Vocal.media (for poetry and articles)
  • Harnessmagazine.com (for poetry and articles)
  • Genreurbanarts.com(for art and writing)
  • Poshmark (for buying and selling clothes)
  • Mecari (for buying and selling items)
  • Let go (for buying and selling items)

There are some websites you won’t have to sign up for but you can still submit your work. These platforms are:

  • Themommywriters.com (for poetry by moms)
  • Femconscious.com (for articles by women and talent display)

Always remember that life isn’t always a walk in the park. There will be a lot of late nights and hard work to get to another level. There will be something to overcome at each level
